Manchester River Days
June 6th-8th, 2024

Rhubacue on the River Reimagined! Put on by the Manchester Area Chamber of Commerce, this will be an event full of fun on the Maquoketa River! The well-loved Rhubarb contests will remain and be surrounded by other events like Music on the Maquoketa, First Friday Farmers Market, community float trip, kids’ games and activities, and a rockin’ street dance to end the weekend on Saturday night. This is a full weekend, family-fun event that truly has something for everyone!

Held at the Riverfront Park along the Maquoketa River from 6-8 pm.  Bring your own lawn chair and drinks!

Manchester Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Window Walk & Static Christmas Parade

Located in Manchester, Iowa, the Delaware County Fair continues to provide the best summer entertainment. From local 4H, FFA and other youth organization exhibits to outstanding grandstand events, this year’s fair is sure to have something for every age!

​Delhi Daze

Put on by the Delhi Betterment Committee, Delhi Daze is an annual event full of fun for both the kiddos and adults! The event kicks off with the Redneck Relays at Silver Lake Park where prizes are awarded for best costumes, followed by an afternoon filled with carnival games, a parade, food stand, adult obstacle course, cute baby contest, rock climbing wall, inflatables, and more! Come for the fun and stay for the music! A street dance will follow the festivities in Downtown Delhi.

Maple Syrup Day: 
March 30th, 2024
Demonstration of how maple syrup is made! This is a free, public event to kick off to spring weather! 

Civil Way Days:
May 31st-June 2nd, 2024
Held at the Delaware County Historical Museum, also known as Lenox College. This weekend long event in the past has kicked off on Friday with a fish fry and night tours. Saturday includes breakfast by the local 4H group, a parade, and followed by events at the museum grounds. Enjoy Civil War reenactments, food trucks, local vendors, and lots of kid friendly activities! 

Butterfly Release:  
August 4th, 2024
In 2019, the museum grounds hosted its first monarch butterfly release in the shadow of the Civil War monument. The campus setting is idyllic with mature trees, filtered sunlight and a flower garden with monarch habitat. Our inaugural release was preceded by music and began with an invocation. Each butterfly is released separately in remembrance of a life lost.  For this writer, the release was symbolic and emotional.

Lenox College Day: 
August 31st, 2024
The Delaware County Historical Society hosts the Lenox Day celebration the last Saturday of August beginning at 9:00 a.m. ending at 3:00 p.m. The activities are held on the museum’s historic Lenox College campus. You’ll find lunch available on the grounds, along with snow cones, cotton candy and fresh apple fritters! Activities throughout the day include handcrafted item vendors, direct sales vendors, silent auction and music by local musicians. For the kids, there are inflatable bounce houses, face painting, barrel wagon rides and old-fashioned games.
All the buildings are open and hosted throughout the day. You can purchase a wrist band on the grounds so that you may tour the museum buildings and view the collections.  Lenox Day is a fundraiser for the museum with proceeds used for restoration and maintenance.

Hot Rods & Harleys Car Show

Hot Rods & Harleys, presented by the Hopkinton Lions Club, has grown to become Northeast Iowa’s Premier Outdoor Fall Car Show. Hot Rods and Harleys is located in Historic Hopkinton, Iowa and voted 2nd best car show in Iowa by Travel Iowa. Come enjoy this free spectator event, small-town hospitality, awesome vehicles! And oh yeah… Be sure to try one of the Lions Clubs Famous Tenderloins!

Trail of Terror

Silver Lake Park in Delhi makes the perfect haunted forest setting for the Trail of Terror. Put on by the Delhi Betterment Committee, the Trail of Terror leads participants through the trail where they may be met with scary scenes mocked from well-known thriller movies. Offering experiences at different levels of fright, the Trail of Terror is an event many ages can enjoy this fall!

Backbone Area Artist Tour

Enjoy a self-guided tour around beautiful Delaware & Clayton County to artist’s studios and shops. Stop at local eateries if you are hungry or need a drink along the way. Spend the weekend immersed in the beautiful art and scenery of Northeast Iowa.

Sherman’s Pumpkin Farm & Corn Maze
Sherman’s has been providing families and friends with Fall memories for over four decades. Admission to the Pumpkin Farm is FREE for all and there is minimal fee of $6 to try your luck at the corn maze. At Sherman’s Pumpkin Farm & Corn Maze you’ll find not only a fun filled corn maze, but a wagon ride, wooden pirate ship, fire truck, and train for kids to play on. Along with these fall activities, you can occasionally find live music and food trucks. And don’t forget to purchase your favorite pumpkins to take home and remember your fun filled day!
