Backbone State Park

Backbone has 21 miles of hiking and multi-use trails.  Stop by the Backbone State Park office for a trail map. Visitors can hike along trails winding through old twisted and windblown cedars and up rough, rocky staircases to one of the highest points in northeast Iowa, the “Devil’s Backbone.”

 

Bailey’s Ford

A 170-acre park located three miles southeast of Manchester. The office and nature center for the Delaware County Conservation Board is located at the park. Visitors to the park are invited to hike and bike along the trails and in the winter you can even cross country ski! Stop by the park office for a trail map.
